target groups. Everybody is welcome to attend this day camp. I hope this turns out to be
successful. We have obtained funding through Canada Summer Employment Grant to
hire four youth activity workers for this project.
Project Summary
The Mistawasis Justice Program recognizes that it is essential to provide and
promote youth services within the community. This year the aim of our program is to
promote healthy lifestyles within a positive atmosphere achieved through awareness
presentations, workshops, hands on activities, recreation, life skills and crafts. For the
summer of 2007 our Justice Program has developed a five week summer day camp to
allow for equal opportunities to serve all youth target groups that have been identified
within our community.
This Youth Summer Day Camp will very beneficial to all those who partake in it.
With the focus on Justice related services and issues it will access community agencies
and off reserve resources for youth supports. It will intertwine traditional components mad
teachings from our Eiders as well as provide fnn and interactive play components. The
youth will have the opportunity to involve themselves in a healthy educational initiative
which promotes their overall well-being.
